Starbucks will close approx 150 stores this year. Folks, that is a lot of stores, but it should not even surprise us. After all, we are in an economic crisis. People are trying to be frugal with their hard earned money. Yeah, we would expect things to worsen. Hey, we are currently in a massive recession. Dare say that a full-blown economic depression is not far away.

Most strategies have us slowly rebuilding our manufacturing base over many years. Well, that means a lot fewer MADE IN CHINA products coming over. Yeah, a lot of their stuff is plastic junk anyway.

Architecture says a lot about us. Maybe this refers to computer architecture also, but I am not so sure. People wanna go with what is new. This is often our case. Well, it does seem so worrisome. Old certainly has its own charms, but people claim it is worn out obsolete and must be thrown away. Hey, what do you say?

Microsoft Office is being rebuilt to exist on mobile as an app. Hey, we do love this program. That said, we are moving into an app age. Digital downloads are occurring more. Just that it is on a cell phone instead of a laptop computer as it was years ago. Frankly, it is best that we stay up to date on what is going on. Just look at the next era. Basically, it could be dominated by tiny microprograms.

Between men and women... there is a huge pay gap. It is true that this gap has shrunk in the last few years. However, this problem does not go away. Politicians want us to shut up. That said, problems we have need to be solved, and we do not accomplish this task by pleading an ongoing ignorance.

England might ban plastic straws next year. This is a serious effort to stop plastic pollution from overtaking us. Certainly, we can use more paper. Biodegradable products should replace inert ones. Otherwise, we could dump enough toxins to destroy our ocean.

Craigslist destroyed newspaper revenue. It left the papers in ruins. After all, they made most of their money in ads and now - most of those are gone. Here is the main reason. Basically, we see that Craigslist is free and you can get your item sold with no fuss and no muss.
