Technologies come and go. However, Cobol is not dead now. In fact, it will go on. Yeah, for many years even. There are over 200 billion lines of Cobol code in use. Think of all those 70's computer programs. Also, about five billion new lines of crisp new Cobol code are added every year. This can be a night mare. People who program Cobol are dying off now. It does not interest young new programmers.
